Hi, I’m Grace — a trauma-informed visual storyteller
I’m a Director of Photography specializing in intimate vérité documentary work with a focus on mental health and emotional storytelling. I’ve filmed in fast-paced, high-pressure environments (with firefighters and a busy veterinary clinic) where being nimble and anticipating action while keeping an eye for story are essential. I also have experience filming performances and Q&As both as static wide shots and dynamic, performance-responsive coverage designed to cut seamlessly in the edit.
After graduating from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism with a focus on documentary cinematography, I worked as an Associate Producer and Associate Editor at Citizen Film where I helped produce, shoot and edit social media shorts, event recaps, fundraising campaigns, and documentaries. My experience as an editor has shaped my eye for story and helps me prioritize coverage that works for the edit.
I’m currently based in Brooklyn and I have a Sony FX6 with a 24-104mm lens and an Aputure C300d light for interviews. I also have experience with Canon C200 and C300s.
